Developing multi-stakehsolder partnerships and co-creation for boosting the uptake of bioeconomy in Central Eastern Europe – Summary of the fourth webinar

The BIOEAST Initiative, with the support of the BIOEASTsUP project, organized it’s 4th webinar on 15 June. The main goal of the webinar was to present the opportunities and tools that can successfully contribute to the mobilization of stakeholders and the formation of multi-actor partnerships within the bioeconomy value chain in the BIOEAST countries.

The webinar was attended by participants from all BIOEAST countries and some other European countries as well.

From the 4 external speakers, Ignacio Martín – the coordinator of Power4BIO project – presented the tools developed and used within the project to facilitate and engage regional stakeholders to create their own regional bioeconomy strategies or to refine their already existing strategies. At the end of the presentation, he addressed the difficulties encountered in involving primary producers in the bioeconomy, which fostered fruitful discussion after the presentation.

Susanna Albertini, who is involved in several EU funded projects presented bioeconomy results from bioeconomy-related CSA projects collected bythe LIFT project. Susanna addressed the activities of European Bioeconomy Network and information available through the network.

Zsuzsanna Bódi, Association Director of European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL), and her colleague Koen Vervoort, presented the concept of living labs and their importance under Horizon Europe. They introduced ENoLL and it’s programs to facilitate stakeholders towards open innovation ecosystems.

Anikó Juhász is the Deputy State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture and co-chair of SCAR AKIS Strategic Working Group. She presented how AKIS works in the different EU countries their main challenges and how AKIS’s importance will increase in the new CAP after 2020.

The 5th BIOEAST webinar will take place on 9 July  with the focus on “Planning sectoral analysis and exchange of good practices for bioeconomy value chains”.
