The meeting of SK partners in BOOST4BIOEAST and CEE2ACT projects – HUB meeting – was held on 3 September at Agrokomplex in Nitra during the 50th International Agricultural and Food Exhibition. Exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic together with the state enterprise Agrokomplex.
The meeting was attended by Bioeconomy Cluster (BEC), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the SR (MARD), National Agricultural and Food Centre (NPPC), National Forest Centre (NLC), as well as HEMP Cluster. At the beginning of HUB meeting, possible cooperation between Bulgarian and Slovak stakeholders in the framework of bioeconomy was discussed with the delegation from the Bulgarian Bioeconomy HUB.
Key objectives of the HUB meeting included:
- Administration of the finalization of the Memorandum of Cooperation in the area of bioeconomy (concluded between BEC, MARD, NPPC, and NLC) and initiation of the expansion of cooperation with other interested parties.
- The SK HUB will support cooperation between partners from different areas committed to achieving common goals and embedding the bioeconomy into national strategic documents.
- Preparation of an action plan by BEC in CEE2ACT, focused mainly on horizontal measures to support the bioeconomy in Slovakia. This document could serve as one of the inputs for the development of the B4B Action Plan and the national Circular Bioeconomy Roadmap.
- Discussion about the preparation of a “promotion” plan for HUB activities dissemination.
- Discussion about Open Innovation Challenge (OIC), as a new opportunity launched by B4B network.
