The Polish National HUB is the central platform for advancing bioeconomy through cross-sectoral collaboration, leveraging expertise from leading National Research Institutes and stakeholders in agriculture, industry, and academia.

Description

The Polish National HUB, under the coordination of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, is a strategic platform driving the development of Poland’s bioeconomy. Its core comprises ten National Research Institutes, which serve as centers of excellence in their respective fields. These institutes provide expertise, resources, and a collaborative environment for stakeholders across agriculture, industry, and academia.

The HUB fosters cross-sectoral dialogue and promotes innovation to strengthen the bioeconomy in Poland. Through capacity building, knowledge sharing, and participatory decision-making processes, it supports the creation of national bioeconomy strategies aligned with the objectives of the BOOST4BIOEAST initiative.

Bioeconomy-related projects

The Polish National HUB comprises member institutes that play a significant role in various bioeconomy-related projects. Among them is the RefreSCAR project, which aims to strengthen the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR) and its working groups. This initiative enhances the coordination of national and European bioeconomy research and innovation programs, aligning them with the European Green Deal and Horizon Europe goals. By supporting knowledge sharing, capacity building, and collaboration, RefreSCAR contributes to policy integration and fosters innovation and sustainable development.

Member institutes are also involved in projects such as CEE2ACT, which empowers Central and Eastern European countries to implement circular bioeconomy strategies, and BRANCHES, promoting best practices and innovations for sustainable rural bioeconomy development. Additionally, the National Centre for Plant Genetic Resources safeguards crop biodiversity and supports sustainable agriculture. Together, these projects drive the HUB’s vision of advancing bioeconomy initiatives while contributing to national and European sustainability goals.
