CEE2ACT Project Final Event

The Future of the Central and Eastern European Biomass Economy

On December 4, 2025, the CEE2ACT consortium organises its closing event in Budapest, at the MagNet Community House (1062 Budapest, Andrássy út 98.) , entitled “The Future of the Central and Eastern European Biomass Economy”. The free professional day, taking place between 9:00 and 16:00 (CET), brings together decision-makers, industry players, researchers and synergy projects to review the state of the region’s biomass economy and the next steps.

The event focusses on the presentation of national biomass-based economic roadmaps developed for the ten CEE countries, with a special focus on lessons learned and key factors for implementation. The programme is complemented by contributions from BIO-INSPIRE, BOOST4BIOEAST, BIOECO-UP, BIOLOC, MarginUp !, GreetCE, and BBioNets, providing a broader perspective on replication, financing, and cross-border collaboration.

The regional framework is provided by BIOEAST , which brings together the development and policy dialogue of the biomass-based economy of Central and Eastern European countries.

The detailed agenda will be available soon. The official language of the event is English.

An interactive event to deepen the understanding of circular bioeconomy strategies in Central and Eastern Europe

In addition to the presentations, interactive discussions await the participants. Through the “Gallery of Memoranda” representatives of the 10 CEE partner countries present several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) that are symbolic confirmations of future cooperation between the members of the CEE2ACT National Hubs. The 10 CEE2ACT National Hubs are also present separately, with the personal participation of the Hub Leaders. The programme is complemented by targeted networking opportunities.

The event offers a practical platform for public administrations, companies, research institutions and civil society actors to align priorities, explore synergies and accelerate the deployment of sustainable, bio-based solutions in the region. Speakers and participants come from ministries and government agencies, European Union institutions, industry, research institutions and international networks.
