CELEBio Country Report: Slovenia – Sustainable Biomass Availability and Bioeconomy Opportunities (D2.1)
Country report prepared by the Association of Chemical Industries of Slovenia (CCIS) under the Horizon 2020 / BBI JU project CELEBio (Central European Leaders of Bioeconomy, GA No 838087). It assesses biomass supply potentials in Slovenia from agriculture, forestry and waste, including crop and livestock residues, agri-food side-streams, forest and wood-processing residues, biowaste and post-consumer wood, with estimates based on the S2BIOM methodology. It also reviews current and emerging bio-based industries, infrastructure and logistics, the energy sector, research and education capacity, the policy framework (including the Smart Specialisation Strategy S4) and financing. Each chapter ends with a SWOT analysis to support the development of bio-based value chains in Slovenia. Published February 2020 (final version June 2020).
