The European Commission published the renewed Action Plan for the development of organic production in March 2021 which aims to boost the production and consumption of organic products and to reach 25% share of agricultural land under organic management by 2030 in the EU.
In order to promote the European Organic Action Plan in the Central-Eastern European and Baltic region, the BIOEASTAgroecology and Sustainable Yields Thematic Working Group organizes an online conference „Supporting the Development of Organic Action Plans in the BIOEAST countries” on the 15th June, 2021 in the 11 BIOEAST countries (Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Romania).
The European Commission also supports the Conference. Diego Canga Fano, DG AGRI’s Principal Adviser in charge of the Organic Action Plan’s implementation will deliver the keynote speech.

PLEASE NOTE: The Conference will be open for all participants until 16:20 pm. The workshop session starting at 16:25 will be closed and only available for the representatives of the BIOEAST countries.
Lead-up period before the Conference: 24 May – 13 June 2021
· Gathering inputs from registered participants on main interest areas of the national organic sectors, specific themes and actions planned for the organic action plans
· Gathering inputs from registered participants on the needs and concerns on the development or implementation of organic action plans in BIOEAST countries
Tool: set of questions sent to participants, feedback gathered in an online form
Result of the Lead-up period: BIOEAST inventory of joint actions and needs, interest areas for national organic action plan development
Final output of the Conference: Reflection Paper on BIOEAST needs and interest areas for national organic action plan development (based on the inventory)
