The Bioeconomy Policy Support Facility Expert Group Dissemination Event was attended with great interest and an active and lively discussion.
The aim of the Bioeconomy Policy Support Facility has been to assist Member States in developing and implementing dedicated national bioeconomy strategies and action plans. The purpose of the event was to present the main findings and best practice identified during the Mutual Learning Exercise undertook by the expert group, formulated as key policy messages and recommendations for the development and implementation of national bioeconomy strategies and action plans.
The final report of the Expert Group entitled ‘Deploying the Bioeconomy in the EU: A Framework approach for bioeconomy strategy development’ containing the key policy messages was presented by its authors, the independent experts who have been responsible for steering the work of the Expert Group.
It was a particular pleasure to have among the independent experts Biljana Kulišić from the BIOEASTsUP consortium partner on behalf of the Energy institute Hrvoje Požar (EIHP).
The report sets out 10 policy recommendations for building national bioeconomies for a fair and equitable climate-neutral Europe, which the BIOEAST countries are advised to follow.
