Save the date: Annual BIOEAST Bioeconomy Conference 2026

Following the success of our previous BIOEAST Bioeconomy Conferences in Budapest (2024) and Bucharest (2025), the BIOEAST Initiative and the BOOST4BIOEAST consortium are happy to announce that we are heading to the Adriatic coast for our next major milestone.

Join us for the Annual BIOEAST Bioeconomy Conference on 22–23 April 2026 at the University of Zadar, Croatia.

Towards inclusive decision-making: will the national bioeconomy action plans make a difference?
Though the BOOST4BIOEAST project starts is final year in 2026, it continues to drive the transition toward sustainable bioeconomy, and this year’s conference will explore how national bioeconomy action plans can effectively bridge the gap between high-level policy and local stakeholders.

What to expect?

The 2026 conference will serve as a platform for the BIOEAST community and beyond to come together, take stock of the BOOST4BIOEAST project progress and discuss new horizons for the BIOEAST Initiative.

  • Policy insights: Gain firsthand knowledge on the status of national bioeconomy action plans and their alignment with the renewed EU Bioeconomy Strategy.
  • Thematic Working Groups: Engage with BIOEAST Thematic Working Groups to discuss specific research gaps and cross-border innovation opportunities.
  • Networking in Zadar: Connect with diverse range of experts, from ministerial representatives, researchers to grassroots innovators from other EU bioeconomy projects, at the University of Zadar.

Registration will open soon! In the meantime, please mark 22–23 April 2026 in your calendar.
