The BIOEAST Initiative, comprising 11 Central and Eastern European countries, is hosting its Annual Bioeconomy Conference on 6th and 7th March 2024 in Budapest, Hungary. The conference focuses on the pivotal role of national HUBs in shaping bioeconomy policies and research priorities across the region.

The conference aims to address strategic key points:

  • Boosting Bioeconomy Strategies: The conference addresses the implementation of bioeconomy strategies in Eastern European countries, aligning with EU climate ambitions and the European Green Deal.
  • Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda: Discussions revolves around the BIOEAST Initiative’s Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and the development of national bioeconomy action plans.
  • BOOST4BIOEAST Project: Attendees learn about BOOST4BIOEAST, a Horizon Europe project aimed at mobilising stakeholders and policymakers to strengthen engagement in bioeconomy policy and research environments.
